Trouble In Flatland

A Board game

Introduction

This project was part of the Creative Visualization (DES621a) course, assigned by Koumudi P. Patil as our final project during the 6th semester of my B.Tech. at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. The objective was to develop a game, identify the target users, and evaluate it using predefined metrics.

Below is a brief overview.

Background Story

A group of scientists received a message from Flatland and were fascinated to discover that life exists in lower dimensions. Driven by curiosity, they constructed an Inter-dimensional Traveling Device (IDTD). However, the device only allowed one person to travel between dimensions, and in their haste, they managed to build only two.

Upon arriving in Flatland, they were immediately arrested by the local authorities and imprisoned in a complex jail made of lines. During their escape attempt, the group was separated, and one of their devices was lost, only to be found by a group of cunning but malevolent prisoners. Realizing the potential danger, the scientists knew they had to return to the three-dimensional world to warn others.

And so, their quest begins…
